Barcelona
The Barcelona Chair, crafted by Mies Van Der Rohe for Knoll, is a hallmark of design history. Its structure, composed of mirror-polished stainless steel, features elastic straps covered in leather and cushions made of polyurethane foam, enveloped in hand-cut and sewn leather covers available in various Spinneybeck leathers. This chair, often deemed a "timeless classic," was originally created in the 1930s for the famous Spanish Pavilion.
Attention to detail is paramount, ensuring that the Barcelona armchair remains adaptable to any décor, standing out as the focal piece. In 1953, Knoll acquired the production rights to this iconic leather-upholstered chair designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Since 1929, the Barcelona Chair has been a celebrated and recognized symbol of modern design, embodying the essence of the Bauhaus Movement. It even received the Museum of Modern Art Award in 1977.
